About Executive Chef Daniel Chiang Executive Chef Daniel Chiang, began his career working in his family’s butcher shop at the age of 16. After discovering a passion for the culinary arts, Daniel worked at a variety of Vancouver hot spots learning how to work in kitchens. In 1999, Daniel joined the Hyatt Regency Vancouver as an apprentice cook, while simultaneously attending Dubrulle Culinary Institute. He worked his way up the culinary ranks in Hyatt Regency Vancouver and attained the role of Executive Sous Chef. Daniel had the opportunity to intern at the Ritz Carlton San Francisco, as well as a one-month internship at Masa’s with One-Michelin- Star Chef Ron Seigel. Daniel’s career path then took him to the Hilton Vancouver, and next to the UBC–Food Services. The opportunity to rejoin the team at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver as Executive Chef welcomed Chiang back to the Hyatt Family.
